Frequently asked questions
About Nannest
What is Nannest?
Nannest is an online directory where families in the United Arab Emirates find maids, nannies, babysitters, housekeepers and other domestic helpers. Helpers create a profile, our team reviews it, and families browse and contact the helpers they like.
Is Nannest a recruitment agency?
No. Nannest is a directory, not a recruitment or placement agency. We do not employ helpers, sponsor visas or arrange contracts, and we do not charge placement fees. Families and helpers deal with each other directly.
Which cities does Nannest cover?
Nannest focuses on the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. The number of profiles differs by city – the location pages show what is currently listed.
For families
How do I find a nanny or maid on Nannest?
Search by city and type of help, then filter by live-in or live-out, availability, languages, experience and salary expectations. Save the profiles you like and send a message from the profile. You can also post a job and let helpers apply to you.
How much does Nannest cost for families?
Browsing profiles, posting a job and sending a message from a profile are currently free. Direct phone and WhatsApp details are available to members. Nannest never charges a placement fee.
Are the helpers on Nannest checked?
Every profile is reviewed by a member of our team before it is published, and incomplete or suspicious profiles are not published. Helpers can also choose to have a government-issued ID reviewed to receive an Identity Verified badge. We do not carry out background, criminal record or reference checks, so families should interview, check references and see original documents before hiring.
Can I hire a helper directly through Nannest?
Nannest helps you find and contact helpers. The employment itself – contract, visa and sponsorship – is between you and the helper and must follow UAE rules. Check the current requirements with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) or an authorised domestic worker service centre.
What is the difference between live-in and live-out?
A live-in helper lives in your home and needs a private room and agreed rest time. A live-out helper has their own accommodation and comes for agreed hours. Profiles marked "live-in or live-out" are open to both.
For helpers
Is it free to create a profile?
Yes. Creating a profile, being listed and applying to jobs on Nannest is free for helpers. Never pay anyone who asks for money to give you a job.
How long does profile approval take?
Our team reviews profiles in the order they are submitted. If something is missing, we tell you exactly what to change. You can follow the status in your dashboard.
Who can see my profile?
Approved profiles are public, so families can find you. Your identity documents are never shown. You choose which contact details to share, and you can hide or update your profile at any time.
How do I apply for jobs?
Once your profile is approved, open any job from the jobs page and apply with one tap. The family sees your profile and can contact you.
Identity verification and safety
What does "Identity Verified" mean?
It means a member of our team reviewed a government-issued identity document (such as an Emirates ID, resident ID, passport or national ID) and found that it matches the name and photo on the profile. It confirms identity only.
Is Identity Verified a background check?
No. Identity Verified is not a criminal record check, background check, reference check, or verification of employment history, legal status or qualifications. Families should carry out their own checks before hiring.
How are identity documents stored?
Identity documents are stored privately, are visible only to authorised administrators who review them, are never shown on the public site, and are deleted according to our data-retention rules.
How do I report a suspicious profile or job?
Use the "Report this profile" link on any profile, or contact us through the contact page. Our team reviews every report. Reports do not automatically remove a profile.
