What “Identity Verified” means on Nannest – and what it doesn't
A plain-language explanation of the Identity Verified badge: what our team checks, how documents are handled, and which checks remain the family's responsibility.
By Nannest Editorial Team · Published · 4 min read
Some helpers on Nannest have an Identity Verified badge on their profile. We want families and helpers to understand exactly what it means, so nobody relies on it for more than it is.
What we check
When a helper asks for verification, they upload a government-issued identity document – for example an Emirates ID, a resident ID, a passport or a national ID. A member of our team reviews the document and checks that it matches the name and photo on the profile. If it does, the profile shows the Identity Verified badge.
What the badge does not mean
The badge does not mean that Nannest has:
- carried out a criminal record or background check,
- verified employment history or references,
- confirmed visa, sponsorship or legal work status,
- checked qualifications, training or medical fitness,
- assessed character or suitability for a particular job.
Families should still interview, check references and see original documents before hiring.
How documents are handled
Identity documents are stored privately and are visible only to authorised administrators who review them. They are never shown on the public site or shared with families, and they are deleted according to our data-retention rules. See our privacy policy.
Can verification expire or be removed?
Yes. A verification can expire, and our team can revoke it if, for example, a document turns out to be invalid or a profile changes significantly.
Is verification required?
No. It is optional for helpers. Many good candidates do not have the badge, and a missing badge does not mean anything negative.
